Dr. Julie Norden has over 20 years of public school experience, including service in Alabama, North Carolina, and Texas. These unique experiences impressed upon her the value of diverse, collaborative school cultures where students from all backgrounds have a voice. Dr. Norden was raised in Mobile, Alabama, and completed an undergraduate degree in elementary education
at Auburn University. Additionally, she earned a master’s degree in library media from the University of South Alabama and educational leadership from Texas A & M, as well as a
specialist's degree in administration from Auburn University. Finally, she completed her doctoral work in administration in 2020 at Auburn University.

Dr. Norden has worked with children from preschool through grade twelve as a classroom teacher, media specialist, and technology coordinator. Her administrative experiences include being the principal of a PK-5 Elementary School, the Coordinator for Library Services, the assistant principal at an eighth-grade campus, and the Coordinator of Preschool Services.

Dr. Norden is passionate about self-reflection, building student and teacher capacity, and promoting a positive, loving school culture and climate. She enjoys long walks, reading, yoga, and cooking creative dishes. She and her husband have four adult children and one feisty dog.
